iGaming market weekly report | Oct 19–25, 2026

Last week Alberta’s Blask Index rose 47.5% as the 13 October grey-market cutoff closed. This week it fell 30.1%. On 23 October the Alberta iGaming Corporation published its first report, covering 13 July to 30 September.

Market spotlight: CA-Alberta | −30.1%

Blask Index fell 30.1%, which sets the three weeks in a line — −14.2% while the deadline was still ahead, +47.5% in the week it landed, −30.1% once that week was over.

The local regulator published its first market report, dated 23 October and covering 13 July to 30 September.

Details:

  • Non-adjusted gross gaming revenue ran from $22.2M in July to $43.3M in August and $56.6M in September.
  • In September, casino games were 75.6% of that revenue, sports and event betting 19.5%, and live casino 4.9%.
  • Active player accounts reached 388 585.
  • The market opened on 13 July with 15 operators and had 24 by 30 September.
  • AiGC says the print still undershoots the whole market, because operators were joining through the quarter.

Those figures describe July, August and September. They name no fine, blocked brand or payment cutoff on 19–25 October. Another down week without an action of that kind would mark +47.5% as deadline noise. A rebound would put the September revenue path back in view.

Brazil continues its fall | −13.3%

Brazil’s −13.3% reads as the shutdown is still unwinding. Presidential elections finished on 25 October, with Lula da Silva as the winner of elections. It means that iGaming will be offshore in the country for a long time.

The Brazilian president did a lot to make Blask Index fall for more than a month.

Top gainers

Bolivia +21.8%

Copa Paceña, the cup stage of the top division, moved into the quarterfinals. Several matches were played during the reporting period.

El Salvador +19.4%

El Salvador rose with two clubs still alive in the Concacaf Central American Cup, the regional club tournament, and neither tie was finished.

US-Oregon +19.4%

Illinois beat the Ducks 21–10 in Champaign after Oregon had led through Jordon Davison’s touchdown and Gage Hurych’s 20-yard field goal. Aidan Laughery’s 75-yard run then opened 21 unanswered points for Illinois. The Ducks lost.

US-Iowa +17.5%

The state led the 5–11 October digest at +54.3%, missed the list the week after, and came back at +17.5%. Minnesota beat No. 15 Iowa 13–10 in Minneapolis.

Colombia +15.7%

Colombia’s week was a full Liga BetPlay round, and the matches that moved the table both had a winner.

Spain +13.8%

On 25 October Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2–1 at Spotify Camp Nou in El Clásico, attendance 62 055. Kylian Mbappé scored in the 41st minute and again in the 87th, with Raphinha’s reply for Barcelona in the 61st leaving the winner to the late goal.

Top decliners

South Korea fell for a second week, and the postseason did not rescue the number. KBO, the country’s top professional baseball league, gave Kia a 13–1 win over LG in Seoul on 20 October and a 3–0 close of the semi-playoff. The game meant to open the next series, Kia at Samsung in Daegu on 25 October, was postponed to 26 October, outside this window.

South Korea −24.8%

US-North Carolina −13.2%

North Carolina reversed with the Panthers. A week earlier they had beaten the Eagles 25–14 in Philadelphia, and Blask Index rose 42.4% after +27.5% the week before that. On 25 October Tampa Bay beat them 43–13 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte and dropped Carolina to 3–3.

Western Australia’s Saturday belonged to the racecourse. Ascot in Perth ran a ten-race card on 24 October, headed by the Listed Belgravia Stakes for three-year-olds.

AU-Western Australia −12.9%

Western Australia’s Saturday belonged to the racecourse. Ascot in Perth ran a ten-race card on 24 October, headed by the Listed Belgravia Stakes for three-year-olds.

Russia −12.9%

Russia fell on a full league Saturday. On 25 October CSKA beat Spartak 2–0 in the Moscow derby at VEB Arena. Akron Tolyatti beat Dynamo Moscow 3–1. Krylia Sovetov beat Rubin Kazan 2–0 and Krasnodar drew Baltika 1–1 on the same day.

CA-Manitoba −10.9%

Manitoba’s drop has a home game, played outdoors. On 25 October the Canadiens beat the Jets 2–1 in the NHL Heritage Classic at Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg. Jacob Fowler made 33 saves, Lane Hutson and Kaiden Guhle scored for Montreal, and Isak Rosen’s goal was the only reply Winnipeg managed.

No in-window trigger found

Seven markets moved without a dated event inside 19–25 October: Guatemala +20.8%, Tajikistan +19.5%, Panama +18.2%, Belarus +17.9%, Mali −24.9%, Armenia −15.4% and Ivory Coast −10.9%.

Two of the gainers are repeats that still have no fixture to hang on. Guatemala rose again after +43.1%, with Liga Nacional’s next listed games starting on 29 October, and Panama rose again after +52.6%. Belarus’s last match on the FIFA list is 6 October, outside this window. Mali is fading with a memory: +43.4%, then −12.4%, now −24.9%, and still no dated match. Tajikistan league scores on aggregator sites were not confirmed on a federation page, so they stay out of the gainers section.

Regional snapshot

North America

In this region, last week’s two engines cooled. Alberta gave back the cutoff spike, and the new document is a revenue report. The US gainer list, six states two weeks ago and five last week, shrank to Oregon and Iowa, both up on a Saturday their college teams lost. North Carolina, the only state to repeat last week, reversed to −13.2% after a 43–13 home loss. Manitoba’s −10.9% belongs to a different sport: a 2–1 home defeat in the Heritage Classic.

Europe and CIS

Spain rose 13.8% on an El Clásico Sunday. Russia fell 12.9% through an ordinary Premier League Saturday as CSKA beat Spartak 2–0 in the Moscow derby. Belarus and Armenia moved, +17.9% and −15.4%, with no verified fixture in the window.

Asia-Pacific

Asia-Pacific kept Korea on the way down. Blask Index fell 24.8% after −12.7%, even with Kia’s 13–1 close of the semi-playoff on 20 October, and the playoff opener that should have followed on 25 October was postponed. Western Australia fell 12.9% on Ascot’s Saturday card. Tajikistan’s +19.5% still has no confirmed trigger.

Latin America

Bolivia, El Salvador and Colombia had matches inside the window. Guatemala and Panama rose again, +20.8% and +18.2%, with no game found to attach. Brazil’s −13.3% is the post-shutdown fade continuing, without a new deadline to date it.

Africa

Mali’s −24.9% is the third week of a fade that started at +43.4%. Ivory Coast fell 10.9% beside it, with nothing dated to separate the two.

Next week watchlist

Alberta — after the first revenue print

The cutoff week is over and the first public revenue figures are out. A second decline would leave +47.5% as deadline noise. A rebound, still with no named enforcement action, would put September’s revenue path back in the frame.

South Korea — the postponed opener

Kia’s playoff opener against Samsung moved from 25 October to 26 October. A rebound would read −24.8% as an empty Sunday. Another drop, once the series is actually being played, would make the postponement a weak explanation.

El Salvador — return legs on 27–28 October

Alianza host Marathón on 27 October, and Saprissa host Firpo on 28 October. A hold near +19.4% would fit a tie that still has a second leg. A fade after a 2–1 and a 0–0 would mark this week as the first-leg spike.

Spain — the Sunday after El Clásico

Real Madrid’s 2–1 at Camp Nou, Mbappé in the 41st and the 87th, stays a one-day event until the next Liga weekend says otherwise. A fade would put +13.8% on that match. A second up week would make the wider Sunday slate the story.

Methodology note

Blask Index tracks real-time iGaming player interest via AI-analyzed Google search data, updated hourly and filtered to remove low-intent noise (scams, complaints). WoW% measures momentum: positive indicates growing attention; negative indicates declining attention.
