What's new in Blask? January 2025
Blask is evolving! Over the past months, we’ve expanded our team and introduced powerful new features. From redefined key metrics to enhanced data granularity and country insights, discover how Blask is becoming more versatile than ever. Let’s dive into the latest updates!
The last few months have been incredibly productive for the Blask product team: we've expanded in size and developed new and useful features!
Let's take a look at what we released in December and January!
Key metrics redefined.
Until now, most of the metrics within Blask were focused solely on the iGaming market, specifically online casinos and betting brands. While this allowed us to communicate effectively with industry stakeholders, it also limited the applicability of our AI technologies to other sectors and occasionally led to misunderstandings.
Thus, we have completely rethought our approach and are introducing three new metrics:
- Brand's Accumulated Power (BAP), previously Relative Market Share (RMS)
- Acquisition Power Score (APS), previously eFTD (estimated First-Time Deposits)
- Competitive Earning Baseline (CEB), previously eGGR (estimated Gross Gaming Revenue)
Currently, this change only affects the names of the metrics and our perspective on them, but we may update our calculation methods in the future.
The important aspect is that by moving away from rigid iGaming terminology, Blask is now able to apply its technologies and AI models across various industries, including fashion, automotive, energy, food and beverages, restaurants, and many others. Additionally, we can delve deeper into the iGaming sector by analyzing not just casino and betting operators, but also payment aggregators, game developers, and all other layers of the industry.
Data granularity improved.
Charts for Blask Index and Brand's Accumulated Power (BAP) are now even more useful—data is available with daily granularity for any period.
Previously, charts for a year or more showed only monthly intervals. Now, you can analyze daily fluctuations regardless of the timeframe. Here are all the available variations:
- all time — months, days
- 1 year — months, days
- 3 months — months, days
- 1 month — days, hours
- 1 week — days, hours
This can be particularly useful for analyzing the impact of past events on the industry. For instance, we examined the influence of IPL 2024 on the iGaming market in India, illustrating the developments over the days. Now, there's no need to refer to our article; you can simply view all this data within Blask.
Country metrics added.
Blask has added socio-economic data for countries on the Market Overview page. This makes the decision-making process for entering a new market much easier, as you now have not only the metrics typical for the iGaming industry but also information on population, GDP, literacy rates, and demographic distribution by age.
Blask aims to gather everything necessary for making strategic decisions in one place. If you're missing something, just let us know!
Local and international brands separated.
In some countries, the iGaming market is regulated, which involves the necessity of obtaining a license. However, players sometimes use VPNs to access foreign brands, and occasionally these brands operate under licenses issued in other regions. Now, all this information is available in Blask!
On the Market Overview page, we have added badges, "Loc" and "Mix," in the brand table to signify:
- Loc — the brand possesses a local license for both betting and casino
- Mix — the brand offers services in both verticals but holds a local license for either betting or casino only
- Brands without a badge do not have a local license
We have also gathered data on when and by whom the license was issued, as well as its expiration date. All this information is now accessible in Blask!
Additionally, the APS and CEB graphs on the Market Overview page now feature two views:
- For the entire iGaming market of the country
- Exclusively for local iGaming brands
Furthermore, we have improved the calculation methodology for the CEB metric, distinguishing between local and international markets. Now, in our calculations, Blask AI uses the actual GGR of the country and brands derived from reports issued by regulatory commissions and the brands themselves.
Games identified and analyzed.
In Blask, a new section called Games has been introduced for certain countries, where we have gathered all the popular iGaming games specific to each selected country.
For each game, the following information is available:
- Title
- Image
- Game provider
- Genre and theme
- Blask Index (reflecting the level of interest in the game)
- SOI (indicating the share of interest in the game)
- Year-over-Year (YoY) and Month-over-Month (MoM) growth
Blask Games is currently in beta mode! We are actively updating the data, enhancing the technology and interface, and paying close attention to feedback from our partners (which includes you).
