Betano’s global demand fell 76% with its Latin American book

Argentina is the only LatAm market where brand’s search rose.

Between 1–15 September and 1–15 October, Blask data shows Betano’s global demand down 76%. Provisional Measure 1,394 stopped new deposits and bets in Brazil on 25 September and required licensed sites offline from 6 October. Betano suspended sports betting and online casino under that act, with the September window closing ten days before the measure.

In the September fortnight, 98% of Betano search sat in Latin America: Brazil, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador. Brazil, Chile and Peru are the ones that shrank, and Brazil iGaming is most of the book, so that fall is the worldwide decline. Markets outside the region edged up, and they were too small to offset it.

Chile’s share of local search fell from 64% to 39%. Peru‘s rose 4.5 percentage points, even as the brand’s queries there fell and the local leader gave up more of a smaller market.
