Behind closed curtains: how Blask Awards 2025 winners are chosen

Blask Awards spotlight the operators and providers shaping the global iGaming landscape. But unlike traditional industry awards, there’s nothing subjective behind the curtain — no juries or voting panels.

A data-first awards ecosystem

Here’s how the results are calculated and defined.

Blask Awards span four layers of recognition:

  1. Global Operator Awards
  2. Regional Awards
  3. Local (Country/State) Awards
  4. Provider & Game Awards

Across all categories, the methodology is governed by strict eligibility rules: only regulated markets and only operators holding local licenses are counted. Every metric is derived from Blask’s real-time AI analytics, including Blask Index, Competitive Earning Baseline (CEB) and Brand’s Aggregated Power (BAP).

Global awards

These categories identify the best-performing operators worldwide across 2025:

  • Leader of the Blask year — Operator that wins the most Blask Awards overall.
  • Top CEB performer — Calculated via a two-step approach: Average CEB (Competitive Earning Baseline) value across the year and summed across all regulated markets where the operator is licensed. The highest aggregate wins.
  • Fastest-growing brand — The operator with the strongest YoY (Year-over-Year) growth in Blask Index.
  • Blask Index leader— The highest total Blask Index across all licensed markets.
  • Baseline breakout — The biggest YoY percentage increase in CEB.
  • Top #1 footprint — Who held the #1 Blask Index position in the largest number of countries through 2025.
  • The monopolist — The single highest BAP (Brand’s Aggregated Power) recorded by any operator within a single regulated market.
  • Demand surge of the year The largest 30-day Blask Index spike detected in any country during 2025.

Regional awards

Regions include Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, each with two core awards:

  • Operator of the year — Highest aggregate Blask Index in the region.
  • Regional CEB leader — Highest aggregate CEB in the region.

Both cover the full 2025 calendar year and include only regulated, licensed operators.

Local awards

For every country where Blask tracks 50+ operators and both verticals (casino + betting) are regulated, three awards will be given:

  • Operator of the Year top Blask Index.
  • CEB Leader top CEB.
  • Game of the Year the game available at the most local operators (available in 17 countries with Blask Games coverage).

Provider & game awards

These awards analyze presence, distribution, catalog size, demand, and momentum:

  • Operator footprint champion game available at the most operators globally.
  • Lobby legend game found on the most operator lobby pages.
  • Full-shelf takeover — game present on the broadest range of internal catalogue pages.
  • Largest catalog provider provider with the biggest tracked game catalog.
  • Game demand leader game with the highest aggregate Blask Index.
  • Breakout game of the year strongest YoY increase in operator coverage.
  • Slot of the year and crash game of the year Slot and Crash games with the highest number of operators across Blask Games markets.

Only licensed operators in regulated markets are counted, ensuring global fairness and comparability.
