The tournament is over. Its market impact is now measurable

Blask analysed iGaming demand across global markets throughout the 39 days of the 2026 World Cup.

For each country, we compared the total Blask Index recorded during the tournament, from 11 June to 19 July, with the preceding 39 days, from 3 May to 10 June.

Blask Index measures aggregated, cleaned search demand for iGaming brands in each market. By comparing two equal periods, we can see where interest in betting increased most during the World Cup, where it remained stable and where demand declined.

What does the World Cup effect measure?

The World Cup effect shows how iGaming demand changed during the tournament compared with the period immediately before it.

Blask Index measures aggregated and de-noised online demand for iGaming brands within each market. It consolidates relevant search signals, removes irrelevant and negative-intent queries and normalises the results to show how market demand changes over time.

For this analysis, Blask used the standard country-level Blask Index methodology.
