SportyBet climbed nine places in South Africa but none in Kenya, despite growth in both
Search share nearly doubled in Kenya and tripled in South Africa, but only one market changed SportyBet’s rank.
SportyBet resumed Kenyan operations in August 2025 after a tax and licensing dispute. In South Africa it was already active, and on 27 November it appointed Cheslin Kolbe and Benni McCarthy as ambassadors.
Blask Index for SportyBet rose 65% in Kenya and quadrupled in South Africa from September 2025 to August 2026.

Kenya went from 1.6% of search, in eighth place, to 2.8% and eighth again. The high was April, at 4%, with May in seventh, and the months after that gave part of the peak back.
The country’s search was about 8% lower in August than in September, so the extra share came out of a softer month.
South Africa went from 0.4% and 15th to 1.3% and sixth. The ambassador announcement landed in late November, on a line that was already above the September base.
The steepest two-month step in the window came just after that signing: share went from 0.6% in December to 1.0% in February. July was the one month that gave ground, and August finished just short of the June high.
Kenya’s CEB (projected revenue) rose from $0.62M to $1.6M, ahead of the search move. In South Africa the same measure rose from $1.1M to $4.9M, a step ahead of the gain there.
A return to the market reopened Kenya, and August still sat below the April high, while South Africa — with no exit in this window — is where the place in the list moved.
