Only Mali and Libya posted a lower Blask Index than in August.
The African iGaming market is traditionally strongest at the end of the year, with September to December the four highest months in each of the four full years Blask has tracked. Last month, demand measured by Blask Index in 42 countries rose 19%, more than in any August-to-September move of the previous four years, and finished 3% above the previous peak of December 2025.
The rebound followed three straight monthly declines from May to July. Last month’s gain beat August’s 16%, reversing the pattern of 2022 to 2025, when August had the larger MoM gain every year. The rise was broad, with 40 of 42 countries growing from August and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe each setting an all-time high. Tanzania, Nigeria and Mozambique alone supplied about 40% of the increase.

The year’s high has come in December in each of the last three years, 13% to 14% above September, and in November in 2022.
Projected revenue (CEB), Blask’s forecast of what a market should earn, also reached a record last month, at $765.6M, above the previous high of $734.5M in May.

African iGaming closed September at an all-time high in both Blask Index and CEB and heads into the final quarter, historically its strongest, from that peak.
