Chile casino revenue fell 4.5% amid growth of the unregulated online market

Legal land-based casinos in Chile recorded a decline in GGR in 2025, while online gambling remains unregulated in the country. Blask data shows that Chile’s online CEB reached around $1B in 2025, up about 28% YoY.

The Chilean Casino and Gaming Association (ACCJ) reported gross revenue of $597.5M for land-based casinos in 2025, down 4.5% from the previous year. During the year, 25 casinos operated in Chile: 22 under active licences and three municipal operators in the process of regulatory transition.

ACCJ linked the decline to illegal online platforms operating outside the tax and regulatory framework and estimated the unregulated online market at around $3.1B. Chile’s Supreme Court has already ordered internet providers to block illegal operator sites.

Online betting and online casinos are currently formally prohibited in Chile, but the bill to legalize the sector entered the final stage of fast-track review in May 2026, with a potential launch date in June.

Chile’s online CEB reached $1B before regulation

In January 2024, monthly CEB in Chile stood at $58.7M. By April 2026, it had reached $101.9M, an all-time high for the market and 74% above the January 2024 level.

For large brands, the first licensing cycle could become a way to legalize already captured demand. For new players, entry will be more difficult: the market meets them with a dominant leader, Betano, holding a 48.9% BAP.
