Cambodia’s growth prediction is weak, while iGaming is falling in the country.
The Asian Development Bank cut Cambodia’s 2026 GDP growth forecast to 3.9% in the September Asian Development Outlook. On 19 August the Ministry of Economy and Finance had already trimmed its own 2026 print.
Tourism took the extra cut
ADB attributes the extra cut to tourism and related services. International arrivals fell 47.9% YoY to 1.8M in the first half of 2026 — 52.5% of the pre-pandemic level.
The bank lists the Middle East conflict, the closed Cambodia–Thailand land border, and concerns about the transnational scam industry. Transport, hospitality, trade and retail absorbed the drop. Industry remained the main engine.
iGaming CEB and search fell with it
Like economics, iGaming is also falling in this country. Monthly CEB in Cambodia down 22.3% YoY.
Search demand compressed even faster. August Blask Index sat 43.5% below August 2025. The series held into January, slid through May, recovered in July, then posted the weakest month of the window.

According to the government’s prediction, economics can fall even more.
