For most countries in the world, April is an unremarkable iGaming month — but a small group of markets, mostly in Asia, treat it as the peak of the year.
Blask seasonality data shows that April is a mid-low month in terms of iGaming demand. Yet it ranks among the top 3 months of the year significantly more often than among the bottom 3. And in several markets where April is the strongest month of the year, it is driven by specific events — like cricket in India or the national football and rugby tournaments in Australia.
A mid-table month
On the 2023–2025 average, most markets (65 of 126 currently tracked by Blask) put April on 7–9 place of 12. The position is stable — 21 markets had April in that range in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Latin America shows the sharpest concentration. 13 of 19 markets put April on 7th–9th place, and nearly half the region ranks April at exactly 9th. Colombia is the only Latin American market with April in the top three on the average, though the position jumped from 5th in 2023 to 1st in 2024 and back to 4th in 2025. Africa looks similar: over half of the continent’s markets put April on 7th–9th place, and none rank it first.
April almost never drops to the bottom of the calendar either. Only 7 markets put it in the bottom three on the 2023–2025 average. For comparison, January, February, and July each have more than 60 such countries.
Where April leads
Seven markets rank April as their strongest month on the three-year average: Australia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Norway, and Pakistan. No other month before September is ranked first in more than three markets.
In India, April is the middle of the Indian Premier League — the biggest cricket betting event in the country. In Australia, April is when the AFL (Australian rules Football League) and NRL (professional rugby league) seasons reach full swing.
In total, 17 markets put April in the top three. Nearly half of those are Asian, but only India and Kuwait kept April in the top three every year. Kuwait ranked it first in all three.
Across regions
Although 8 of 27 currently tracked by Blask Asian markets put April in the top three, its average rank in the region is 5th. One Asian country, Singapore, puts April in the bottom three.
In Africa, April averages 6th. In Latin America, 8th — one of the weakest months in a region where iGaming demand is concentrated from September through December, driven by the football calendar (Copa Libertadores knockout stages, domestic leagues’ finals), and year-end bonuses.
What the pattern reveals
April is not a weak month — it rarely performs worse than other months. But outside Asia and parts of Europe, it is an ordinary one.
