Brazilian police arrest Brabet-linked operator in Campinas
On May 21, São Paulo and Ceará civil police carried out a raid and arrested the owner of the offshore gambling platform Brabet.
Alberth Cesar Janjon, 43, was detained under a court order as part of a joint operation by the São Paulo and Ceará civil police, which took place across six states. Police claim that he managed an illegal gambling network that drove traffic to unlicensed platforms through influencers. The charges include participation in a criminal organization, fraud, and money laundering.
According to investigators, a separate member of the network, operating from China, generated approximately $199K per day. The arrest followed a civil investigation opened on May 13 by Brazil’s Public Prosecutor’s Office into the Brabet.com platform over consumer protection issues.
Important note: BB Gaming Ltda., the licensed operator of Brabet.com under a Lotep licence, denies any connection to Janjon. His company, On-Line Games, used the Brabet name but ceased operations in October 2024.
Brazil in numbers: a $561M CEB market, Brabet at the top of the offshore fringe
According to Blask, in April 2026 Brazil’s iGaming market generated around $561M in CEB. In the same month, Brabet ranked 21st in Brazil by search-based demand. Its own CEB for April was $17.2M, or around 3.1% of the market total CEB.

The influencer-commission model, where creators were reportedly paid based on users’ losses, is now becoming the main target of Brazilian prosecutors. If individual influencers face charges, more and more operators in Brazil’s offshore segment will face a compliance decision on affiliate structures.
