Polymarket US search demand fell 70% after June

NFL Week 1 app installs beat the sportsbooks while branded search in the United States had already thinned.

From June through August 2026, Polymarket’s US Blask Index dropped 70%, with the steepest month in August. But on NFL Week 1, PM outpaced traditional bookmakers by downloads — about 762,000, ahead of DraftKings and FanDuel.

Blask data for the US prediction markets shows a brand sliding before kickoff, then a share shift inside the category. Polymarket’s slice of US segment demand went from 68.6% in June to 57.8% in August.

Day-level Blask Index rose 121% in NFL Week 1 versus the August daily average. Kickoff lifted branded search off the August floor after the summer drop. The March–May run stayed out of reach.

The World Cup ran 11 June to 19 July 2026 across the United States, Mexico and Canada, and US search cooled after that window. However, the NFL lifted Polymarket’s Blask Index again.
