Live casino content expansion in Europe

Live casino content expansion is one of the key trends in Global iGaming, including Europe. Live games climb from the outsiders to the top-tier leaderboards.

A few years ago, the iGaming world was captured by crash games, a trend that swept through LatAm and Africa. Today, a new tendency emerged — live casino content. Being at the bottom of operator lobbies just a year ago, live games have climbed to the top places in rankings.

This research covers three biggest European countries by CEB: the United Kingdom ($12.4B CEB, 2nd place in Blask rating), Italy ($6.33B, 6th place), and the Netherlands ($3.04B, 15th place). The data reveals exactly how live casino expansion is playing out across the continent.

The United Kingdom: Evolution’s rise

The same providers occupy the top tier, but Evolution has moved from the very bottom — just 0.08% content share — all the way to first place among live games suppliers.

Since the summer of 2025, Crazy Time has seen significant growth, joined by a wave of other Evolution titles which gained their shares in early 2026. One of the provider’s biggest breakout stars in December 2025 was Ice Fishing, which incorporated live and crash content mechanics and shared the same ideas with the Crazy Time hit.

This shift in player interest is captured by the Genre Content Share metrics: live casino content has broken through the 5% threshold in the UK from nearly zero just a year prior.

Italy: capturing both live and slot audences

While established studios remain steady, Italy mirrors the trend with Evolution breaking into the top tier.

Once again, Crazy Time demonstrated the biggest growth, with Ice Fishing securing the second spot.

The data confirms a shift in player behavior. As traditional slots see a slight dip in market share, live casino content has surged into second place in the overall genre rankings.

Netherlands: the most dramatic shift

The Netherlands showed the same situation with Evolution exceeding a 3% threshold.

While Crazy Time remains the leader, Ice Fishing held strong as the second most popular game until a fresh wave of titles emerged in early 2026.

The Netherlands shows the most dramatic genre shift. Live casino content has surged from roughly 0.1% share — outside the top five genres entirely — to over 7% and second place overall in under a year, trailing only slots.

Beyond Evolution, Playtech and Pragmatic Play stand out as the leading live content suppliers, with strong lobby visibility across markets. Evolution was outside the top-tier list in the previous year, while its contenders were in the top ranking in 2025.

The UK market remains more competitive, with Ezugi and Playtech maintaining a solid mid-tier presence.

There is an undisputed leader in Italy among live casino games — Crazy Time by Evolution, which has a 1.5x visibility gap with Mega Fire Blaze Roulette Live by Playtech. With Evolution’s 8 titles out of 15 in the ranking, leaderboard is also captured by Playtech (5 games) and Pragmatic Play (1).

The Dutch market is heavily dominated by Evolution with 10 games in the top ranking. The top 15 also includes 3 Pragmatic Play’s titles and one game developed by ICONIC21 and Playtech each.

Bottom line

Across all three major European markets, live casino content is gaining serious ground. The primary beneficiaries are Evolution, Playtech and Pragmatic Play, whose titles are driving the expansion and claiming an ever-larger share of operator lobbies. While Crazy Time remains the leading live title, innovative hybrid games like Ice Fishing brings live casino mechanics to a broader audience.
