Stake can not work in Brazil — again

Less than 36 hours separated the São Paulo injunction and the order that put Stake back under the betting ban.

On 9 October 2026, TRF-3 president Luis Antonio Johonsom Di Salvo granted the Union’s request to suspend the partial stay that had let Stake Brazil Ltda. keep stake.bet.br online until 25 October. Stake worked legally in Brazil only one day.

TRF-3 is Brazil’s Federal Regional Court of the 3rd Region — the federal appeals court for São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul that can review and suspend first-instance orders, including the injunction that briefly let Stake Brazil keep operating.

Search demand for Stake Brazil jumped once stake.bet.br could operate under the São Paulo order. 8 October was the only day the licensed .bet.br site could run legally before TRF-3 put the brand back under the same shutdown rules as every other licensee. Interest stayed elevated on 9 and 10 October after the suspension, when licensed access was gone again.

Stake Brazil ban 2026

Mid-tier onshore brand before the ban

Before the total ban, Stake Brazil was a mid-tier onshore brand. In September it ranked 62nd of 512 brands by search share, at 0.1%. Betano led at 33.4%. Onshore brands still held 94.7% of demand and 96.5% of CEB against 5.3% and 3.5% offshore.

The chart shows where demand sat before the 6 October shutdown. TRF-3 did not reopen the market for that tier. It removed a single-operator carve-out so the ban applies the same way again.
