Introducing Blask Trends: see the signal behind the noise
The problem we’re solving
The Blask Index is unmatched at capturing real-time market interest. But during major events, launches, and promo cycles, short-term spikes and dips can make the graphs “noisy,” obscuring the underlying direction. Many users told us they want a fast, high-level read: is this market growing, stagnating, or declining right now?
What Blask Trends is
Blask Trends is a new view in the Blask Index widget that suppresses extremes and smooths volatility to reveal the clean market trend. On top of the smoothed line, Blask classifies the current regime into one of three states:
- Growth
- Stagnation
- Decline

How it works (at a high level)
- Input: the standard Blask Index time series for the selected market and timeframe.
- Processing: the view smooths short-term fluctuations to expose the directional trend line.
- Output: a trend overlay plus a state badge (Growth/Stagnation/Decline) that updates with the data.
You can toggle the trend overlay and set Trends as the default view for the widget. Tooltips will help you to navigate through the updated interface.
What’s more — we can show you average and median values in each category. We hope that will help you to have a better view over the market.
Why this matters
- Instant clarity: read the market’s direction without being misled by one-off spikes (e.g., finals weekend, headline sponsorships, bonus surges).
- Better timing: pair the trend with time-of-week and time-of-day patterns to decide when to launch, pause, or rotate campaigns.
- Operational focus: concentrate spend where the trend state = Growth, maintain vigilance in Stagnation, and protect unit economics in Decline.
Where to find it
Blask Trends lives inside the Blask Index widget. It works across our 85 markets with the same hourly refresh cadence as the core Index.
📌 Mind low-volume markets: if recent data is too thin, the system will be conservative about showing a trend state.
What’s next
We’re focused on broad adoption and quality signals. Based on usage and feedback, we’ll evaluate brand-level trend views and period-over-period trend comparisons in future iterations.
